Big news from the Call of Duty: Ghosts camp today – and an explanation of that tease Infinity Ward released yesterday. There's a fresh wave of Micro Items coming to Call of Duty: Ghosts in the form of Personalization Packs, character skins and other stuff -- the official news item on is here. I'm happy to bring you the first images of what will be available on Xbox platforms next Tuesday, February 18th.

Let's start with the Personalization Packs, each of which includes a weapon camo, a player background, a player patch, and a reticle. They're $1.99 per pack, and your options are...a bit less conventional than the camos that you've been using so far:

Circuit: Your path is clear

Ducky: Now you're a quack shot

Inferno: New meaning to the word "firefight"

Space Cats: They already rule the Internet, so why not?

You can also equip your squad members with custom characters based on the Ghosts from the game’s single-player campaign. Roll into battle with Keegan, Merrick, Elias, and Hesh; each character is $1.99.

For Modern Warfare fans, there's the Captain Price Legend Pack, which combines one of the most legendary Call of Duty operators as a playable character in multiplayer & squads matches, along with his own special Personalization Pack. You'll get Capt. Price himself, a weapon camo, a player background, a player patch, and reticle in one pack for $3.99. And yes, the reticle is Price’s moustache:

"If he's back on the grid, then so are we." – Captain John Price

The last item available next Tuesday is for players who like a loadout for every occasion. If you'd prefer 10 loadouts per squadmate instead of the standard six, the Extra Slots Pack will offer that flexibility to you across all your characters, for $1.99.

Extra slots aren't sexy – they're just incredibly useful.

As I mentioned, all these items will debut on Xbox consoles this coming Tuesday, but of course, you'll see them on other platforms in the future, too. When I have a date for that, I'll pass it on.

Some have asked, so let me offer a reminder that these Micro Items do not transfer between systems. You can’t buy a Personalization Pack on your Xbox 360 and then carry it forward to your Xbox One at a later date – that offer is just for Call of Duty: Ghosts DLC Season Pass content (separate from Micro Items). You can get more info on the DLC Season Pass upgrade here (and that offer is still good until the end of May, if you're considering it). But if you’re a dual-platform player and want the Space Cats Pack (which, of course you do, because OMG space cats) on multiple systems, you'll need to purchase it on each system. I figured it was better to mention it now, so you have some time to consider your options for Tuesday.

Lastly (and I said this before when Activision revealed Micro Items for Call of Duty: Black Ops II last year). all these Call of Duty: Ghosts Micro Items are completely optional, and they don’t affect Ghosts’ gameplay balance in any capacity. Micro Items are for those players that really enjoy customizing their Call of Duty experience to their liking. So, if you’re interested in these things and want to purchase just one, or all of them, that’s great. And if they don’t interest you, that’s great too. Just keep enjoying the game.

That's all I have for now, but that should give you something to contemplate during the long weekend. On Tuesday, you can pick your favorites!
