Call of Duty: Black Ops looks pretty ambitious. Cramming a satisfying version of its SOG-soaked gameplay into a portable system? That’s really ambitious. But a Nintendo DS version of Black Ops was announced this week — with six-player multiplayer support, no less — and I have the screens to prove it.

The DS version is being developed by n-Space, which is also the studio working on the DS version of James Bond 007: Blood Stone and my under-the-radar fave from E3, Tron: Evolution – Battle Grids. They’re fairly active on Twitter, too.

The DS version will also feature new two-player co-op mode. Yeah, I know, I’m thinking the same thing: How the hell are you going to pull that off? But I thought the same thing when I found out Modern Warfare was coming to DS, and Modern Warfare: Mobilized did just fine. Same developer, too. So…my mind is open. Let’s see what they do.
