Transformers WfC has DLC, officially

Why say with a press release what you can say with a video and a story from IGN? Videos let you blow things up. That’s appropriate for the official announcement of the Transformers: War for Cybertron DLC, which includes five characters and four new multiplayer maps. It comes out next week, July 27th, for $10 on PlayStation 3 or 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live.

The pack includes two deathmatch maps and two Escalation maps in addition to five playable characters: Jazz, Demolishor, and Shockwave — all of which were preorder bonus characters at various retailers — as well as Decepticon Onslaught and Autobot Scattershot (or is it Scattorshot? I’m going by the trailer until I hear otherwise.) I heard the stories of people gouging and getting gouged for preorder codes. Personally I wish the DLC had been announced before things got to that, but if there’s one thing gamers are, it’s impulsive. And for anybody who didn’t pay outrageous prices but secretly wanted to, this DLC announcement is good news.

    I love the idea! Didn't even know WfC would get DLC, and I haven't been able to pick it up yet. Bet you know my question, Dan! Will the DLC come over to the darkside on the PC?

    This kind of pisses me off. What was the point of preordering if it's just going to come out as DLC? I should have realized that it would be put up as DLC given that Jaggernaut was released as DLC for Marvel UA2.

    On the other hand, I'm sorta happy to be able to get Shockwave…

    Conflicted.

    Because preordering only got you one character. I thought about that too, but realized, most people if they even bothered to preorder only got one character, and most of them would have liked to have more. So now they can. I say good outweighs bad, and you get a lot of content for the price.

    What will Scattershot/Scattorshot transfrom into? The Gen 1 cartoon and toyline has him turning into a plane/spaceship. But the game would benefit most by having another Autobot tank.

    Yeah, I understand that. I was just annoyed (and honestly conflicted) when I read the story, but I do realize the good does outweigh the bad.

    Having a good transformers game based on G1 is a dream come true for me and ultimately I will get the DLC.

    I am glad I didn't go on my first impulse and try to buy a shockwave on ebay.
