It’s my first San Diego Comic-Con, and I am glad to be sharing it with Kat. She’s taking photos like crazy, and she’s getting a lot of photos OF crazy. The good geeky kind of crazy, the kind of pictures that you see and go “Man, someone really cared about that costume, even though this is the only place on earth where anybody would recognize it.” So if you are one of the many people who wishes you were here, I asked Kat for a few photos to give you a taste. I did check in at the Activision booth a lot (where we found Spider-Man playing Transformers, which is kind of perfect), but we also walked the floor a bit. I’m only posting a few because I’m dead tired; I’ll try to post more tomorrow.
Hasbro's booth is huge and awesome, and the life-size Bumblebee is a major photo attraction. His Camaro alter-ego is parked just to his right.
You can ever have too many D20s. I found some cool ones in this big bin at the Chessex booth. I love any place where you can buy random dice by the mugful.
Just a few blocks from the con, they're making a Shattered Dimensions mural. It's on the corner of Island and Fifth.
The mural is the work of several artists and will take several days to complete.
Shattered Dimensions writer Dan Slott stopped by the Activision to get his first chance to play the game -- and associate producer Kevin Umbricht seems concerned.
Getting to SDCC is one thing. Getting out is another.
