In case you missed the announcement by Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling, the company has a solution to “Mapathy” — you know, that listless lack of caring that you get from not seeing new levels for your favorite multiplayer games. In the case of Modern Warfare 2, you can kiss mapathy goodbye on March 30 — that’s when the first DLC pack, dubbed the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package, hits Xbox Live. That title just rolls off the tongue, doesn’t it? Or not. The press release does not detail exactly what is in the first pack yet, so keep your attention on FourZeroTwo and mapathy.com for the next reveal.
For any Live members who are not yet Gold subscribers, you’ll be glad to hear there’s a free multiplayer unlock weekend coming up — this weekend. It’s March 12 through 15, so if you haven’t tried MW2 online yet, this is your chance to do so for free.
Also, a reminder that this DLC pack is exclusive to the Xbox 360…for now. You’ll see it on other platforms eventually, but as announced at last year’s E3 conference, it’s showing up in Microsoft’s turf first.
