Goin’ mobile

by Dan on February 12, 2010

A few folks (okay, mostly JalenJade) have pointed out that my site, at launch, looked a bit funny on iPhone. The cloud background didn’t align correctly and the whole thing just looked, well, broken. We changed the background so it was at least blue, but the clouds are still a problem. Well, I really like the clouds (it ties into the tarot card that was the inspiration for the name) but I don’t want to make things ugly or uncomfortable for my fellow iPhone brethren.

So…I’m trying out a new plugin that makes the site load quickly on iPhone by basically dressing up the RSS feed. You can still read the full posts, you can view embedded videos, whatever. You don’t get the clouds or the sword, but hey. You don’t have to pinch and zoom just to read the text. Also, you can turn it off; if you want to see the main site design, albeit slightly broken, there’s a switch at the bottom and you can turn it on and off at will.

Thanks to Katrin Auch for finding a fix.

I'm innocent! Okay. This also does the same on Andriod phones as well. So no more broken background. (Honestly it didn't really bug me I just noticed it didn't work right.) So Thanks go out to Katrin Auch for her hard work and Dan for listening to me troubleshoot his website on multiple platforms. :)

Any chance to make this work for the blackberry? It would be perfect for me.
