I'm a bit late for the party, but I wanted to mention that Gabriel Knight - Sins of the Fathers ist my favourite Adventure Game OF ALL TIME! (take that, Beyonce!).

Yes. Even better than Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis oder Monkey Island 2 (Places 2 and 3, respectively). The ambience, the characters - even the voicework blew me away when the game came out. I still have the original CD-ROM version somewhere (yes, I had a CD-ROM when the game came out. A lousy double speed one, but I got to listen to the characters talk, yeah).

So I urge EVERYBODY to give the game a spin. You can play it with a walkthrough nearby, as some of the puzzles are a bit obscure. But the story and the setting is just so great and you'll have a wonderful time.

I've been a Gog'er for just under a year, and I have to agree : It's a great site. Classic games I grew up with, and more recent offerings, too, all for $6 or $10 American. There is no regionality, no separate pricing schemes for such. You pay one price no matter where in the world you are.

This Activision news is pretty amazing considering their stance on gaming this last few years. There's definitely a good few titles I hope appear for sale soon!

More gaming companies should sign on : The Gog team do all the work, all you have to do is agree to licence the games, and sit back raking in the coins for nothing! It really is that simple. I'm looking at Blizzard, and EA primarily, here. :P

Games that use DOSBox (or SCUMMVM) work just fine.
It means Heroes of Might and Magic I & II, Duke Nukem et so on…

The fact that they run without any hassles on modern hardware is really the huge hook for me. Hassle-free.

Released in 99, seems like a perfect candidate. Don't know if it's in the mix, but I don't see a reason not to hope for it.

As a GR/TDar fan, I've been wanting to play Gabriel Knight for quite a while now, but never managed to find it for sale anywhere, either in shops on online via Steam or anything. Very, very excited to see that it'll be available soon, definitely going to pick that up!

They teased some sort of Mac compatibility in that interview, but it looks like iPad support to me; I do not know if they run in Parallels as I've never tried. I am planning to Bootcamp my Mac so I figure, at the very least, I can probably get the games running that way.

That said, I've had no problems on real PC hardware so far, but I feel your pain. Mac support is something I know folks talk about on the GOG forums fairly often.
